This poem came about after some discussions my soulmate, WhiteShepherd, and I were having and from a movie we watched last Thursday night on the Sci-Fi channel. I think it was called "The Darkling". This 'darkling' gave power and money to a human who then passed it on to someone else. It was interesting how the 'victim' was sucked into the money and power because of his love for automobiles and then lost everything that meant anything to him. So, I guess I was wondering to myself what I would do if offered the same opportunity because of art. I told myself that I would never do such a thing and ruin what I already have. One doesn't know just how much a movie, based on fact or fiction, can impact ones dreams. This one sure did to me! When I woke and I could remember my dream, I started putting it into a poem and immediately had to write it down so I wouldn't forget. "Power & Money vs True Love" by Kaycy Ruffer - August 3rd 2002 I had a dream As everyone does Of power and money VS True Love My soul mate and I Were at a convention one day Mingling with artists And rubbing shoulders with money After a spell A man with money Asked me if I Would also like some I thought about this For quite some time As I was torn Between my true love and money One thing about dreams They are safe and secure Because whatever one decides One can think on it more My decision was made And as a fool I chose the life of Power and Money. I was happy at first Then to my dismay I realized I had Made a terrible mistake You see I didn't understand at first With my soulmate beside me I was already the richest woman In the whole universe! With my soul mate you see He was truly in love with me And with him beside me I could do and be ANYTHING!
